Call for Submissions
for a Poetry Anthology
to be published by Terrapin Books
edited by Diane Lockward
topic: Poems in which a color plays an important role
tentative title: The Color Wheel: Poems
open for Submissions: September 17 - October 31
We are looking for poems with color(s) in them. Think of the many different colors, the various shades of colors, the hues. Think of the color wheel. Think of the emotional associations with different colors. Think of a color and think of its opposite. Think of the absence of color.
Don’t have any poems with colors? Take one of your failed drafts and add one color to it. Weave that color throughout the poem. Or add just a touch of color. Or add multiple colors.
All submissions must go via Submittable. The required fee of $3 will help defray expenses.
Your submission may include a maximum of 3 poems.
In the cover letter, please include a third-person, professional bio of 50-75 words.
Unpublished or previously published poems are both fine. If previously published, please provide the name of the journal or book and press right below the poem.
Honorarium: Each contributor to the book will receive one complimentary copy of the anthology. Discounted author’s copies will be available.
We can accept submissions from outside the US but will not be able to mail the honorarium book.
